Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) are based in Worthing, West Sussex on the South Coast of England. Originally founded in 1966 by John Bowers and Peter Hayward, the company was focused on a modest living standard and the priority was to plough any profits back into the business to further research into the quest for the perfect loudspeaker. It was in the 1970's that B&W first used Kevlar as a cone material in the launch of the 801 which soon became the reference speaker for classical recording studios including Abbey Road, Decca & Deutsche Grammophon. Following the success of the 801 the technology has filtered down through the product ranges to give the best possible performance at all prices points.
